Katherine "Kathi" Hickerson

 Funeral service for Katherine (Deaton) Hickerson, age 70, of Electra, Texas, formerly of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Rev. Brent Morey officiating.

 Mrs. Hickerson passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

 Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the funeral home. 

Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery.

She was born November 2, 1954, in Vernon, Texas, to T. Clark Deaton and Dorothy Lotus (Tompkins) Deaton. She was united in marriage to Louis Hickerson on March 4, 1971, at Vernon, Texas. They lived in Frederick and Kathi worked at Gibsons and at Puddin Lane Grocery. She loved watching movies and turned her passion into a business. She was the proud owner and operator of the Video Hut (video rental store). She also worked for the City of Frederick as a meter reader. She was a member of the Frederick Fire Fighters Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Frederick. She and Louis lived in several Texas communities, including: Wichita Falls, Snyder, Brownfield, Plainview, Burkburnett, and then Electra the last few years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Andrew Ray “Andy” Hickerson; and a brother: Thomas Clark Deaton.

She is survived by her husband: Louis, of the home in Electra; a daughter: Paula Gay Hickerson and friend Angel Adan Gonzales Moreno, of Wichita Falls; a son: Roderick Sean Hickerson and wife Rachel, of Lubbock; and a brother: Russell Wayne Deaton, of Melissa, Texas; six grandsons: Dusty Hickerson, Drew Ritter, Devin Ritter, Dylan Rowe, Rylan Hickerson, and Reese Hickerson; six great grandchildren and one on the way.
