Kenneth Mark Bobo was born December 14, 1952. He was called home by the Lord on December 24, 2024. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Frederick, with Rev. Les Banks officiating.
Mark, as known by most, was born in Frederick, Oklahoma, and spent the majority of his life serving this town he cherished. Mark was the son of Bob & Glenna Bobo and brother to Steve & Sherri. Mark graduated from Frederick High School in 1971, and went to college at Cameron University where he graduated in 1975.
On June 27th, 1975, Mark married the love of his life, Judy (Fry) Bobo. They welcomed their first child, Clint in 1980, and their daughter, Charity in 1985. Mark was a devoted father supporting his children in their endeavors throughout childhood and into their adult years. Mark was known to hike some of the tallest mountains in Colorado with Clint or be a test subject as Charity practiced her techniques as an esthetician. This generous demeanor carried into his years as a grandfather. He was always happy to help his grandchildren, Calleigh, Tate, Ridge & Brooklyn with any project or interests they had or show them new skills and activities that he excelled at. He even let his grandchildren call him different grandpa names based on what they wanted not what he chose for himself, so Papa & Poppie he was.
Mark spent 44 years in the banking world where he rose to be not only a leader in his field but someone that everyone counted on to be the expert in the field and their mentor. Thanks to Mark’s professional life, those skills carried through in all the organizations he served, which was treasurer for most. Mark’s devotion to his faith shone through every day and inspired many throughout his years ministering to so many. He served Frederick’s First United Methodist Church for 48 years as a Chairman of Finance, Sunday school teacher, usher, and anywhere else they needed assistance. As the faithful servant he was, Mark was called to serve on the board of the Manitou Juvenile Justice Program and through his involvement there he also led their weekly bible study for the youth.
Mark enjoyed this last year in Stillwater, Oklahoma, after he and Judy relocated to be closer to family. In his short time in Stillwater, Mark became active at Stillwater Bible Church. He spent much of his time cultivating his yard as he always took pride in his home’s landscaping whether that was in Stillwater or Frederick. Anyone that drove by his home knows how true this is as they passed the picture perfect landscaping.
Survivors include his wife Judy Bobo of Stillwater, Oklahoma; children Clint (Ashley) Bobo of Fraser, Colorado; Charity (Jason) Trout of Stillwater, Oklahoma; grandchildren Calleigh & Ridge Bobo of Fraser, Colorado & Tate & Brooklyn Trout of Stillwater, Oklahoma; brother Steve (Mary Loyce) Bobo of Mustang, Oklahoma; sister Sherri (Bob) Royce of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters-in-law Celia Thompson & Patti (Mike) Stapp and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made in Mark’s name to Stillwater Bible Church to the Youth and Kids Building Fund. Donations to the fund can be sent to 7617 West 6th Ave., Stillwater, OK 74074.
