Mark Johnson was born in Fredrick Oklahoma on June 2nd, 1959 to Joyce and Terry Johnson. He grew up between Oklahoma City, OK and Waco, Texas. He was heavily into the 70's rock scene and played in several local bands as a drummer, even going so far as to headline the Waco State Fair. He got into commercial painting after high school and had a brief tenure in that occupation before deciding to become an Auto Body Tech. He followed his passions for cars and restoration work for nearly 40 years including managing various body shops and owning his own for a period of time. Mark went on to restore several classic Buick's and GMC's that were show room award winning restorations at the height of his career.
Mark was a man of many talents ranging not only from paint & body work but also to metal fabrication, upholstery work, and music. His passion for music led him to pursue skill in several instruments such as the drums, guitar, piano, trumpet and violin as well as dabbling into a little studio work. In his later years, he enjoyed restoring old vintage instruments including drum kits, trumpets, and guitars at his long time home in Yukon, Oklahoma while working at an auto collision shop based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Mark had two children: his daughter, Sara Johnson born on September 17, 1988 and his son Robbie Johnson born on September 6, 1992. They were the light of his world and he spent his entire life trying to give them as much as he could. He married his wife and love of his life, Ouida Johnson (born May 17th, 1959), on Sep 3rd, 1992. They were married for 27 years and share an unbreakable bond.
Mark Passed at his home Monday morning, November 4th, 2019. His family was with him until the very end and he knew he was loved and cared for. He left behind his wife, two children, two grandchildren, and his mother. He also left a legacy of perseverance, humbleness, and strength. He left the world a better place than he found it. Mark Johnson was a born again, Bible believing Christian and is with Jesus Christ in Heaven.
