Mary Hostak

            Mary (Ballard) Hostak, age 80, of Frederick, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

            A private family burial will be in the Hobart Rose Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.

            She was born July 8, 1941, to George S. and Clara (Bridges) Ballard, in Frederick, Oklahoma. She grew up attending Frederick schools. She was united in marriage to James John “Jim” Hostak on November 25, 1982, at Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 29, 2019. She loved everyone and never met a stranger she didn’t like. She especially loved her family. In addition to loving her family and friends, she loved sharing the word of God.

            In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Kyle Anne Sorrels; grandsons: Dustin Don Day and Sean Clark; brothers: Floice, Troice, Leon, Delbert, and Clayton Ballard; sisters: Maxine Ballard Hudspeth, Patricia Sue Ballard, and baby girl Ballard that died at birth.

            Survivors include two sons: Ron Clark and wife Marilyn, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Craig Don Sorrels, of Frederick; a daughter Kelly Baber, of Erie, Pennsylvania; two brothers: Doyle Ballard and wife Patsy, of Frederick, and Charles Ballard and wife Pamela, of Angleton, Texas; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
