Funeral service for Mozella Lue Miller, age 89, former Ryan resident, of Norman, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021, at the Burkhardt Chapel of the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Shane Kendrix, Baptist minister, officiating.
Mrs. Miller passed away Tuesday morning, January 12, 2021, at Norman Regional Hospital.
Burial is under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.
She was born January 16, 1931, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. She attended Snyder schools and graduated from Snyder High School in 1948. She attended Cameron College (now Cameron University), in Lawton. She was united in marriage to C. L. (Red) Miller on March 1, 1957, in Oklahoma City. In the 1960’s, they became the owners and operators of the First State Bank of Ryan, Oklahoma. They continued the banking legacy that began there with that institution in 1910. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ryan. To say that Mozella was an avid OU fan would be an understatement. She supported the University of Oklahoma in all sporting endeavors. She and her husband had season tickets to the OU football home games but they also seldom missed an away game either. When it came to bowl games, no game was too far to travel. She would go with family to Florida, Arizona or anywhere the Sooners played.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Lena Littlefield; and her husband: C.L. (Red) Miller, on November 1, 1990.
Survivors include two sons: Charles (Chuck) Miller and Guy Kent Miller; and a daughter: Xoe Xan Miller; and a grandson: Michael Miller, all of Norman; a sister: Lena (Louise) Hamilton, of Tahlequah; a brother: Jack Peterson and wife Neva, of Edmond; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Memorial Cemetery Beautification Fund, 111 N. 11th Street, Frederick, OK 73542, in loving memory of Mozella Miller.
