Preston Edward Leckie, age 75, passed away on June 27, 2024 in Georgetown, Texas. Known affectionately as “35 Arm”, Preston was a cherished figure in his community and among his loved ones. Preston was born into the loving arms of Melvin and Arleta Leckie and later became the devoted husband to Chylene Leckie for almost 20 years. He was a proud father and doting Papa and P-pa. A proud veteran, Preston served in the Marines during the Vietnam War, showcasing his dedication and bravery. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a civil engineer, contributing both to the private sector and the Corps of Engineers where his work left a lasting impact. Preston was a graduate of Snyder High School and furthered his education at Cameron University laying a strong foundation for his professional achievements. He was a passionate fan of the Washington Redskins and the OU Sooners. He enjoyed watching Blacklist and war movies. He was a long-standing member and officer of the VFW. His hobbies and interests spoke volumes about his vibrant personality and the joy he found in life. Preston Leckie’s life was marked by his unwavering strength, love and commitment to his family and country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Preston is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by daughter- Leslie Graves and husband William of Rockport, TX (their children: Sierrah Graves of Elgin, OK, Shelby McLaughlin of Fort Cavazos, TX, and three great grandchildren), son- Eric "Shawn" Leckie and wife Jonnie of Oklahoma City, OK (their children: Jacob, Seth and Savanna of Oklahoma City), son- Richie Leckie and girlfriend Shanna Purser of Snyder, OK (and granddaughter-Isabella Leckie of Aurora, CO).
