Funeral service for Marion “Randall” Lewis, age 70, of Frederick, Oklahoma, was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Frederick with Rev. Josh Boles, pastor, and Rev. Les Banks, officiating.
Mr. Lewis passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at his home in Frederick. Burial was in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Orr Gray Gish Funeral Home.
He was born May 20, 1953, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Marion Randall Lewis Sr. and Doris Maxine (Cassidy) Lewis. He attended Frederick Schools and was active in the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned Eagle Scout in 1969. He graduated from Frederick High School with the Class of 1971 and Graduated from Central State University (now UCO), in Edmond, with a degree in mortuary science in 1974. He was united in marriage to Sue Ann Harness on May 25, 1974, at the First Baptist Church of Frederick. Randall was always supportive of his wife's teaching career and church ministries. They worked side by side to support each others endeavors. Randall worked in the funeral business in Oklahoma City, Muskogee, and Frederick. He was proud to maintain his funeral director’s license through the years and was always willing to help funeral homes whenever needed. He was an astute business man and had a career in banking and financial services. He owned or operated several businesses in Frederick, including: Lewis Investments, Frederick Furniture & Appliance, Lewis Bail Bonds, and Lewis Farms. He loved his family and attending all the grandkid’s activities. He also enjoyed golf, snow skiing, and OU football games. He enjoyed meeting the Subway gang for coffee each morning. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Frederick where he served on numerous committees. He loved the Lord and he loved his church family. He felt blessed to help church ministries by assisting in providing scholarships for kids and youth camps, mission trips, and other church work. He was an active Lions Club member. He joked that he was the first “2-timer” when he served a second time as the club’s president.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents: Asa Randall Lewis and Lucile Lewis Schechtman and Step Grandfather “Papa Joe” Schechtman; maternal grandparents: Eddie Eugene and Velma (Dickerson) Cassidy; his parents Marion Randall and Doris Lewis; two nephews: Nicholas Wasinger and Steven Loomis; and a brother-in-law: Keith Wasinger; and his father and mother in law Jack and Frances (Patterson) Harness.
Survivors include his wife: Sue Ann (Harness) Lewis; daughter: Becky Holland and husband David, of Lawton: son: Justin Lewis and wife Jessica, of Frederick; three sisters: Mary Hasenmyer, and husband Mike, of Grandfield, Margaret Ann Linker, of Frederick, and Martha Wasinger, of Frederick; a sister-in-law: Jeanne (Harness) Loomis and husband Jim, of Weatherford; five grandchildren: Drew Russell Holland, Grant Randall Holland, Brynn Renae Holland, Parker Renee Lewis, and Asa Randall Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews and bonus family member: Oscar Juanes. He loved and was proud of all his family.
The family wishes to say thank you to all the wonderful people that came to visit Randall during his illness. The family would also like to thank Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma and Elara Home Health and Hospice Care. Randall wanted to, in his words, “be the light,” during his 15 month battle with cancer.
